Past

Saskia started his life upon Kaastis--a world where humans and species that are regarded as supernatural on earth live in complete knowledge of each other. These various species coexist--albeit not always peacefully, but conflict with another species is no more common then ones among the same kind. Saskia grew up very well of this fact. He had been born a vampire. Upon his world vampires were a long lived race who quite enjoyed the sun, and while they did consume blood their bite would never turn another into their kind. The only way to be a vampire was to be born one. The vampire population were divided among a number of warring clans, each clan ruled by an Archon. Saskia's mother had been the youngest daughter of the Archon of one clan while his father had been a hunter from another that his mother's were in constant conflict with. It was by chance that the two encountered each other and began a long steamy affair that ended with the two developing genuine feelings for one another. Eventually the pair decided they wanted to spend the rest of their lives together and asked each of their respective clans permission to do so.

The clan of Saskia's father was more than happy to grant the lovebirds their blessings. They regarded this match as an excellent way to put an end to the animosity that existed between the two clans. Saskia's mother clan, on the other hand, had a very different opinion. They found the idea of the lowest member of a clan marrying one of the highest to be downright insulting. A fight broke out between the two clans---one that resulted in many deaths including that of Saskia's father. His grandfather believed that this whole sordid affair would be forgotten in no time, and many claimed that it might have been if Saskia's mother had not ended up pregnant. His grandfather want his mother to get rid of the child, but she refused to even consider the possibility of not having the child of the man she loved. Her father became outraged. He decreed that since his daughter wished to choose an outsider over her own people that her title and everything that went with it be stripped from her and she be banished to the poor section of the clan where she could bring up that thing he vowed to have nothing to do with to her heart content. It was a vow he would ultimately break, and Saskia would become his grandfather's favorite.

Not long after giving birth to Saskia, his had affair with a demon, and when it was discovered that she was with child the clan urged her to get rid of this child, but for far different reason than they had with Saskia. It was common knowledge that demonic half-breeds--especially half-vampire--went insane underneath a condition called bloodlust, and they would travel the world slaughtering anyone and anything in their path until they were put out of their misery, but Saskia's mother refused to hear it. She wasn't going to condemn her child as a lost cause before he had a change to live, and if the worse should come to pass than she would deal with it. Four years after Saskia was born, his mother would give birth to her final child--a daughter born to one of the human kings. It was years before this king discovered the existence of his daughter and was very eager to bring her to his kingdom to be raised as his heir since he and his queen were unable to have children of their own.

The clan hesitated to agree to this arrangement. They absolutely adored Saskia's sister and the idea of her being outside their protective embrace didn't settle well with them, but the human king and queen convinced the clan to give them a chance to prove the young princess would be safe within their care by offering the entire clan to stay within the castle and even offered Saskia, his brother and mother permanent residence if they agreed to let Saskia's sister live among them as their heir. It was winter when they made their journey to the castle and at first everything was going along well, and it seemed that the king and queen was going to get their heir, but then everything changed after one tragic incident. There was a pond behind the castle that never froze over no matter how cold it got, and the clan children were told to stay off the pond. A warning that being the rebellious child he was Saskia ultimately ignored. He decided that he wished to go ice-skating, and convince his brother to come along, and their sister who was the middle sibling's shadow came along.

They were having a blast out on the pond when suddenly the ice beneath their sister's feet gave way and she went plunging into the icy water and might have sunk to the bottom never to be recovered if Saskia's brother hadn't grabbed her, but it was easy to see that he wouldn't hold her there for long and Saskia doubted he possessed the strength to pull them out, ran to the castle to get help. He found help right away, and immediately his sibling were pulled from the water and rushed into the castle to receive medical care, but it was unclear whether or not they would survive the ordeal. Saskia waited anxiously for news of his siblings, and whether or not he was responsible for their death. A cousin who often displayed jealously over the fact that Saskia was their grandfather's favorite approached him and told him that everyone hated him and he was responsible for his siblings' deaths. Taking these words to mean that he was indeed a murder and not wanting to see the hatred within his mother's eyes as she regarded the monster that her last child was took off running into the streets of the city that surrounded the castle.

He didn't know where he was going. He might have been trying to find his father who had long since been dead, or perhaps he was trying to find the place where monster dwell. It was very possible that within that moment the two were one in the same. He wandered the street for some time before he was found by a sick and twisted man who liked to keep children as his playthings, and decided that Saskia would be perfect for his collection. Promising Saskia that he would help him find what he sought the man convince him to come home with him, but once he got Saskia inside he made it perfectly clear that he had no intention of fulfill his promise and Saskia's nightmare began. This Saskia believed was going to be his existence until man grew tired of him as he didn't think that his family was looking for him, and even in the unlikely event that they were they were not going to find him within the vast human city.

His younger brother, however, came to his rescue and upon seeing the horrors that had been inflected upon Saskia killed his tormentor. It was moment after the deed was done that Saskia's  mother and grandfather rushed into the house and glanced at the scene with horror. It was not the sight of the slaughtered man that elected such an reaction. They believed he deserved that fate. It was fear that Saskia's brother might be consumed by bloodlust. Saskia's grandfather picked up his brother and carried him out of the house while Saskia's mother took him, and they returned to the castle where they awaited to see if Saskia's brother would be consumed by blood lust. Much to their joy that did not come to pass, but it was decided that his sister was not going to be raised amongst the human. The King and Queen accepted this decision, but asked if they would be allowed to keep in contact with the King's daughter. The clan seeing no reason to deny this request--agreed. Before they embarked upon their journey home, the human king and queen told Saskia's sister that she would always have a home amongst them, and she could come to stay with them whenever she wished.

The events affected Saskia greatly. He blamed himself completely for what happened to his siblings, and vowed that he would never put himself in a position where his disregard for the rules would put his siblings in harms way ever again. He became a stickler for the rules. It became clear that he was not the only one affected by this events. His brother personality shifted as well. Neither talked about what happened, but both understood completely how it had affected the other. Immediately upon their return, Saskia and his brother began their training, and became the greatest warriors within the clan. Neither entered a battle without one another, and were often found fighting side by side. Saskia always made sure to give the killing blow. He believed that it was his duty as the eldest to do whatever he could to protect his brother from potential blood lust, and he believed it was the act of killing itself  when he came to Saskia aid that almost sent him over the edge.

While Saskia and his brother were extremely close, Saskia and his sister were a completely different story. The two were constantly at odds with each other, and when their grandfather told the two they were to be married that sent their already tumultuous relationship into further turmoil. Saskia immediately agreed, but his sister believing that he only agreed to marry her because he had been ordered and not because he wanted to refused. The two had a huge fight that was to no surprise to anyone had been left unresolved the next day when Saskia and his brother marched into battle, but the fact she had ran off to live amongst the human when they returned came as quite the shock. Immediately, Saskia decided that he was going to march into the human lands and drag his sister home, and his brother concluding that since they had always fought together decided to come with. It didn't take them long to locate their sister.

Right away, Saskia demanded that their sister return home, and she refused. This resulted them to get into a huge argument. It took their brother taking her to the side and having a conversation to convince her to come back with them, but when they reached home they discovered that they had no home to return to. The three of them stood for what seemed like forever staring at the ruins of not only their home but family as well. Finally, Saskia turned towards their sister and told her that this was all her fault. If she hadn't been so selfish and ran off like she had they would have been there to help defend their clan, and might have spared them from such a fate. Upon hearing his words, his sister took off running and his brother reprimanded him for what he had said before taking off after her. Saskia rushed after them, but would never reach them as he found himself surrounded by a bright light and a strange floating sensation.

Present

When everything stopped he was no longer within the forest he had been, but instead upon a ship sailing upon a vast ocean. It took him a few days to figure out that he was no longer upon his home world, and it was a little while after that before he learned that his siblings had not been transported to the same world that he had. He had no idea where they had gone nor did he know how to get to them, but he vowed he would find a way. It was his duty as the eldest brother. This new world he found himself upon caused him to have to take the position of someone who was loose and fast with the rules. He told himself that this was okay as he was not breaking any rule essential to his people's beliefs, but he couldn't help amusing himself with what he thought was his sister reaction if she could see him.

After some time, he discovered how to travel to other worlds, and while it was not always a pleasant experience he knew the only way to locate his siblings was to go from one world to the other. He had already been to several worlds and haven't found them yet, but there is no doubt within his mind that it is only a matter of time.
